WALTERGATES TECH INNOVATION HUB, LOCATED AT 24TH STREET, NEW ACHIMOTA.
To provides incubation and acceleration to SME's primarily through the use of IT.
Our goal as a hub is to keep developing cutting edge technology to incubate and accelerate SME’s to enable them achieve financial independence, access new markets and accelerate growth. We aim to accelerate over 500 additional SME's over the next two and a half years.
Our focus as a Hub has been youth and female lead enterprises, informal sector enterprises and quite recently persons with disabilities (PWD) lead enterprises.
Waltergates Tech Hub currently has over 30 SME's in its Tech Innovation Hub and over 300 informal sector SMEs at various levels of acceleration. Through our acceleration programme we do not only train but develop business software solutions to suit the specific need of each SME. These include payroll, HR, time attendance, stock and inventory management, retail and sales management, and other business solutions SME's operating in all sectors.
In addition to this, we facilitate access to new markets, as well as access to loans, grants and equity financing for SME's. Through our fin-tech payment platform called Widepay Cash, which is licensed by the Bank of Ghana, we also provide payment solutions and bulk SMS to SME's.
One of our notable achievements is our acceleration of informal sector enterprises. In addition to the education and training, we have also developed a platform to ensure financial, digital and welfare inclusion by providing micro-welfare solutions such as pensions, life insurance, health insurance, and general insurance cover for SME’s workplaces. Also some SME’s can access consumer credit and soft loans to help grow their businesses. We currently have over 300 female market traders’ enterprises undergoing acceleration.
In addition to this, Waltergates organized a forum for some SME's under our acceleration Hub to engage with the current Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on the 25th of March this year to articulate his policies for SME’s in Ghana, especially the informal sector SME's.
Waltergates also engaged the former president and current running mate of the largest opposition party the National Democratic Congress (NDC), His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on the 27th of January to also articulate his policies for informal sector SME's should he be elected president in the upcoming December 2024 elections.
These forums were organized to ensure government is intentional about developing policies towards the growth of Ghanaian SME's.
Now we will take a short message from the CEO of Waltergates, Mr Solomon Andoh:
When it comes to our current training programmes, they are practical, engaging and quick to comprehend as elucidated by our Head of Training.
